CFE-FBB. John MALTBY, b. ca. 1800-1810 (Josiah 5, Jonathan 4, Jos. 3, Dan. 2, Wm. 1). He is called:--"of Springfield, Illinois." I think he is undoubtedly father of the following

     Child:
CFE-FBB-A.  Jonathan S. Maltby, b. Oct. 8, 1834, Colchester, Illinois 
               Colchester, roughly, 120 miles N. W. of Springfield.

This Jonathan m. Mary A. PUTT, who was b. on a farm near Frankport, Kentucky, and John Maltby's sister, Sarah, mar. Sylvanus Massie in Sangamon Co., Ill., who was born in Kentucky. Springfield is in Sangamon Co. Jonathan S. Maltby names his eldest son "Josiah," for his grandfather, while Jonathan S. Maltby's father John, named Jonathan for his father.
