CFE-BFA. Curtis White MALTBY, b. near Corning, N.Y. (Erastus 5, Jos.4, Jos. 3, Dan. 2, Wm. 1). m. about 1835, Caroline WHITE. It is said her people were from Albany.

A letter from Miss Chase, who descends from Hannah White, sister of Caroline White, writes: "They were daughters of Hiram White, who mar. in 1812, Cornelia Van Etten, dau. of James VanEtten, who mar. 1783, a dau. of Adam Shick." (probably Van Schaick). These are old Dutch families. A Mr. Van Etten was Vice-President of the Bagdad- Chase Gold Mining Company, in 1906-1907.
